Extra Curricular Classes & Clubs

External Classes 

*Note: When an external class is taught by a non-Berean Instructor on-campus there will be a Berean Faculty member present for the duration of the class. All on-campus external instructors must have cleared a background check. Berean reserves the right to cancel Instructors who do not teach in-line with our school's Mission. 

  • Technology and Coding Classes with CoderKids (12 week course). Classes for K-2nd (Mondays) and 3rd-5th (Wednesdays). Classes begin the week of Sept. 17.

    • Instructor: ​Elias Torres is a student at the University of Houston pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems. Elias has always been passionate about education and technology since he believes they are valuable to progressing society. After graduating he plans to continue his education and work towards a master’s degree in Cybersecurity. In his free time, he likes to browse the internet, play video games, and modify his computer. Elias is a driven individual who believes that anyone can achieve anything through hard work and dedication.

  • Spanish Class (Fall 8-week course) -- The Fall will be Wednesday K-2. In the Spring we will offer 3-5 Grade classes. Classes will be taught in partnership with the Bible Seminary by Prof. Esmeralda Heer integrating Missions, Spanish Bible reading and Praise in Spanish with an emphasis on basics, conversation and vocabulary.  Email: esmeralda.heer@sbcglobal.net  and  esmeralda.heer@thebibleseminary.org

  • Golden Eagle Taekwondo (After-school pickup from Berean (1st-5th grades), with Taekwondo training and activities). One of few Christian Martial Arts programs in the region and an after-school program with pick-up from Berean.  They will have a sign up table at Back-to-school night. Bring this registration form or they will have them there. (off-campus)

  • Chess Team (Fall and Spring). Contact Dr. Soden

  • School Yearbook (Spring). Contact Coach Thompson

  • Coffee and Conversation (Fall) -- Parents only (because we need to keep learning too).  We will have two courses during the Fall based on numerous requests.  A beginning course for parents on Boundaries with Kids by Cloud and Townsend.  Also, an advanced class surveying The Liberal Arts Tradition: A Philosophy of Christian Education. Meeting times: TBA.
