Applicants for 1st -12th grade attend a Shadow Day and take an academic assessment. Kinder applicants participate in a Kindergarten readiness assesement.

The Admissions Process
At Berean Christian Academy, we have thoughtfully designed our admissions process to help families discover whether BCA is the right fit for their student and family. Our goal is not to be exclusive, but to welcome and connect with families who strongly desire a classical Christian education and are committed to partnering with our school.

Attend an Informational Tour
After watching the Discover Berean video, prospective families are invited to attend an Informational Tour. This is an opportunity to visit our campus, meet members of our Enrollment Team, and learn more about BCA and our unique approach to education.

STEP 1: DISCOVER BEREAN
Complete the Required Reading & Information
As you consider BCA, we ask families to take time to learn more about classical Christian education and our educational philosophy. Required materials include:

7th–12th Grade Applicants: Students and parents should listen to the podcast 'So Your Parents Are Thinking of Sending You to a Classical Christian School'. In this podcast, Joshua Gibbs reads a pamphlet intended to help upper school students understand the beliefs, habits, and goals of a classical Christian school. Listen on Spotify or Apple Podcasts.
Following your Informational Tour, you will receive a link to complete an online application for each student applying to BCA.

7th–12th Grade: $170 non-refundable application fee, plus a separate non-refundable ISEE assessment fee

7th–12th Grade: Student Questionnaire
Once BCA has received the completed application, required documentation, and references, the Admissions Committee will carefully review the application. Following the application review, you will receive notification from the Admissions Committee regarding the next steps in the process.
Please Note: Submission of a completed application does not guarantee an invitation to a Shadow Day, Academic Assessment, or Parent Interview.
STEP 2: SUBMIT AN APPLICATION
Following the application review, an applicant may be invited to participate in a Shadow Day at BCA and complete an Academic Assessment.

Kindergarten
Kindergarten applicants will complete a Kindergarten Readiness Assessment on campus with members of our Garden School and Admissions Teams. All incoming Kindergarten students must be 5 years old by September 1.

1st–6th Grade
Applicants in 1st–6th grade will complete their Academic Assessment on campus during their Shadow Day.

7th–12th Grade
Applicants in 7th–12th grade must register and pay to take the ISEE Academic Assessment. ISEE scores should be submitted directly to BCA using our unique ERB school code: 571498. Instructions for registering and submitting scores will be provided if your student is invited for a shadow day. The ISEE assessment fee is separate from the BCA application fee and is paid directly to ERB Learning.
Please Note: Completion of a Shadow Day and Academic Assessment does not guarantee an invitation to a Parent Interview.
STEP 3: SHADOW DAY AND ACADEMIC ASSESSMENT
The final step of the admissions process is the Parent Interview. If invited, all parents are required to attend an interview with the Admissions Committee. Students do not attend the Parent Interview.
The purpose of the interview is to provide an opportunity for the Admissions Committee and parents to discuss the student's and family's goals and their compatibility with BCA's educational methods and philosophy. Because parent partnership is an integral part of the BCA community, this conversation is an important part of the admissions process. We value the opportunity to learn more about each family and to discuss what it means to partner together in the education of their children.
STEP 4: PARENT INTERVIEW
Following the completion of the admissions process, the Admissions Committee will carefully consider each applicant and, with prayer, determine the appropriate admissions decision. All families will receive notification of their admission status by email.

Waiting Pool
BCA maintains an active waiting pool, and applicants are evaluated as space becomes available. If the grade for which you have applied reaches capacity, your application may be placed in the waiting pool for that grade. If a place becomes available in a previously closed grade, all applicants in the waiting pool for that grade will be considered together.
