Our Philosophy

PHILOSOPHY OF DISCIPLESHIP

Berean Christian Academy believes that every Christian is called to be a mature disciple of Jesus, and it sees discipleship as a key part of education. The school supports this through teaching, mentoring, and discipline, while recognizing that the primary responsibility for discipleship lies with parents and the church. Operating under the delegated authority of parents, the school works in partnership with families to guide students spiritually and behaviorally. For this partnership to be effective, school and home must align in values and goals, ensuring students receive consistent support in their Christian growth. For  more information please read our Philosophy of Discipleship.

PHILOSOPHY OF EDUCATION

The ultimate purpose of Berean Christian Academy is to glorify God. Quality education- academically, spiritually, socially, physically, culturally, and emotionally-is provided from a Biblical point of view to help parents raise their children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. As a school, our goal is to assist our students in developing a Biblical worldview.

Because we are concerned with the development of the whole person, we stress the following:

SPIRITUAL GROWTH

Our emphasis is to teach the Word of God, to exalt Jesus Christ as Savior, Lord, and friend, and to assist our students to mature spiritually by placing God as the center of their lives.

INTELLECTUAL DEVELOPMENT

A carefully planned and well balanced academic program strives to meet the needs of young people.

PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT

A combination of programs and activities are designed to meet the various motor development skill levels of each age group with physical education classes and after school sport opportunities.

EMOTIONAL AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT

Students are exposed to a wholesome atmosphere where they will be positively influenced in the areas of self esteem, social development and moral values.

CULTURAL DEVELOPMENT

Through a combination of literature and Spanish, students are prepared for diversity in society.

The Christian philosophy of education is based on the authority, authenticity, and reliability of the Bible as the complete and final revelation of God concerning all matters of faith, truth, and practice. We believe that the ultimate responsibility for a child's education has been given to the parents. At school, the teacher assumes that responsibility in order for the school to complement and supplement the training at home. In that way, the Christian school helps parents.

"Train up a child in the way that he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it." Proverbs 22:6.

One of the major advantages of a Christian school education is that each student may receive an education from Christian teachers and staff. The faculty and staff at Berean Christian Academy have a strong Christian commitment to provide the best education for our students.
